A New Adventure Begins....

Buglin' with the boys

Mid-week family camping trip to hear the elk bugling in Rocky Mountain National Park...wonderful! Ian learned to say elk, got all excited about seeing babies and kept holding out grass (even though the elk were >.5 miles away!) as "num nums." Fireside he got all excited everytime we heard more bugling....SO cute!!

Harvesting at Miller's Farm

This past weekend we had the opportunity to visit Miller's Farm during their fall harvesting celebration. We had a GREAT time. They took us out into the fields on a tractor pulled hayride -- which Ian LOVED the tractor of course. We harvested our own cabbage, beans, corn, beets, tomatoes, peppers of all kinds, potatoes, pumpkins, carrots, eggplant.....Then Ian got to pet goats and see a lama at the petting zoo and go play on an old fire truck and the cars painted to look like the characters from one of his favorite movies "Cars," as well as an old airplane!

Labor Day camping trip

We were invited to join the Williams' crew camping and fishing up Poudre canyon, so we packed the van and headed up for Friday night (unfortunately Mike was on call all weekend so we could only stay one night). Good fun was had by all, smores, campfire, stars galore, fishing for both Dada and Ian and plenty of converstations about how we are soooo lucky to live in Colorado! ...especially with winter approaching we are realizing even more with a kiddo how lucky we are to live so close to the mountains, but not have to deal with all the snow either (which Jen did PLENTY of in ND!).

Ian took this picture!

Roasting marshmellows

Ian wasn't sure how to eat his s'more, but it didn't take long before he was covered in it!

This kid LOVES fruit, and especially watermelon...I think this was the only time the whole trip he slowed down and sat for a while!

Fishin' on the river, and watching Luna swim...a great way to end the morning.
