Spoiled!!!! ...but still not rotten

We had a great time this year as Ian really got into the whole Easter bunny and Easter celebrations! …not to mention CANDY! The kid was so spoiled I’m not sure how everyone can possibly keep up in the following years. Friday night we dyed easter eggs for the Easter bunny to hide. Saturday after church we visited Grandma Donna’s and GG Lillie, Bob, David and Linda were visiting from Grand Junction & Boulder…where Ian acquired his first gifts from the Easter bunny. On Sunday, Ian was all “cozy'ed in” his blankets for his morning moooooovie when I came upstairs and told him he better come downstairs, it looks like the Easter bunny had been here! He was off the couch and downstairs in no time flat to find his the mother-load spilling out of his basket. Drum sticks, bubbles, a dinosaur, a recorder, a kaleidoscope and of course more candy candy candy were all part of his loot, which he had a blast playing with for the rest of the morning. Next he was off to find all the eggs the Easter bunny had hidden around the house, he sure got his search image solidified quick and was off! Sunday afternoon we headed down to Denver for the final Avalanche game with Grandma & Grandpa. Ian was so excited “going to the hockey game?” was the first thing out of his mouth after nap and he still hasn’t stopped talking about it! After the game we went to Dale & Sue’s for a bit more Easter celebration, where the Easter bunny had left his 3rd basket of goodies for Ian. Luckily for us Sue & Dale were taking him for the night…so after about 5 handfuls of jelly beans we decided it was time to get home. Not sure when he made it to bed, but I’m sure he totally crashed! Monday Sue and Ian played with the chickens and dug in the dirt finding them worms and other treats --- he can’t wait until they start laying eggs!! Finally, after a 4 hour nap (guess we tuckered the boy out the previous few days!) we headed over to visit Grandma & Grandpa where the Easter bunny had left his 4th and final collection of gifts. This haul included the new “move it” movie (Madagascar 2) – which we then had to promptly go home and watch (and dance with during all the parts with music). Overall, I think it was a pretty successful and fairly low stress Easter weekend. I’m so glad I’m pregnant with all this candy around!! --and it should still all last through the summer!!

The final loot from neighborhood Easter egg hunt in Windsor near Grandma & Grandpa's house:

Candy, candy and more candy! --This kid has never had nor seen so much candy!
One for the bucket...

Two for me! :-)

Trying to open the plastic eggs in the cold wasn't the easiest task, for mama either!

The bunny hop and a visit from the Easter Bunny!!
Hope everyone had a peaceful, relaxing and/or exciting and reflective Easter holiday. On to new adventures….
